National Women in Engineering Day 2016

The United Kingdom currently has Europe’s lowest proportion of women working in engineering and the Women’s Engineering Society (WES) is seeking to address that issue.

Thursday 23 June is the UK’s National Women in Engineering Day (NWED), it takes place annually and in this, the third year, the campaign has expanded internationally to raise the profile of women working in engineering and focus attention on the amazing career opportunities available to women in these disciplines.  To coincide with this there are various events around the UK aimed at promoting the role of women in engineering.

The sub-theme for 2016 is #RaisingProfiles and to celebrate this theme, WES is issuing a list of the  Top 50 Women in Engineering, to be published in the Daily Telegraph on 23 June 2016, coinciding with NWED and aiming to inspire a new generation of women engineers.

The 2016 NWED Resource Pack is also available. You can  download or request your copy here .
