Job Description

Network Engineer | Cisco | Routing & Switching | Palo Alto | Enterprise Networks | Central London

We're partnering with a global media technology and connectivity organisation to recruit a Network Engineer for its established UK infrastructure team.

This is a broad, hands-on position supporting a complex multi-site network environment underpinning business-critical media, corporate and customer services.

Rather than operating within rigid support tiers, you'll take ownership across the network, from day-to-day troubleshooting and operational support through to infrastructure improvements, network projects and design-related work.

What you'll be doing

  • Support, operate and improve a multi-site enterprise network
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routing, switching and wireless infrastructure
  • Manage network security and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issues
  • Work across operational support, network upgrades, projects and design
  • Support resilient IP infrastructure carrying business-critical services

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years' hands-on enterprise/campus networking experience
  • Strong Cisco routing and switching skills, ideally Catalyst and Nexus
  • Practical knowledge of BGP, OSPF and/or EIGRP
  • Enterprise firewall experience, ideally Palo Alto
  • Strong Layer 2/3 networking and troubleshooting knowledge
  • CCNP-level knowledge or working towards certification
  • Experience with multicast, video-over-IP or media/broadcast networks would be advantageous

Experience with IP multicast, video-over-IP, datacentre networking, private circuits or media/broadcast infrastructure would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

Package

  • £65,000 base salary
  • 10% annual bonus
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Pension
  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in Central London, 3 from home
  • Occasional international travel
  • Opportunity to develop further across advanced networking, security and IP-based media technologies

If you're a hands-on Network Engineer looking for a role where you can work across Cisco networking, security and complex IP infrastructure rather than being limited to a narrow support function, I'd be happy to tell you more.
