Technical Project Manager

An experienced Technical Project Manager is required for a fantastic fixed-term contract opportunity based in Spain, to deliver a cutting-edge metadata and automatic media description (AMD) software project.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will play a key role as a peer to the senior engineering management team and work across various departments to identify, gather and translate on-going requirements for the effective road-mapping of the metadata and artificial intelligence (AI) software platform.

You will manage a small group of third party suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of complex embedded software, integration and strategic evolution of the metadata solution and build fruitful working relationships with technical subject matter experts, key stakeholders and senior management.

You will drive work and release planning, agile planning, handle collaboration between multiple development teams and software architects efficiently and manage architectural convergence and software delivery risks. You will be responsible for coordination best practices to analyse, design, build, test, release and implement software of the highest quality, both on time and within budget.

Candidates will have a strong track record as a Project Manager, with solid experience of delivering complex hardware or software products and metadata processing projects, ideally within sports media or the wider broadcast industry.

You will have strong technical knowledge of middleware solutions, MQ (RabbitMQ / Kafka), deploying microservices in cloud containers (Docker / Kubernetes), database systems (SQL Server, Redis, MongoDB), cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Alibaba) and have excellent hands-on programming skills (ideally C# and Python). Any additional knowledge of machine learning, mobile applications or cloud services would be highly advantageous.

Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is essential, along with exceptional communication, leadership and organisational skills. You will also have a great aptitude for user experience design and software development and testing methodologies (for example Agile).

This position will run until September 2020 and will involve international travel, candidates must therefore be flexible and willing to travel globally, potentially at short notice.
