A Senior Broadcast Network Engineer is required to join a leading research focused company based in Central London. The company have expanded rapidly in all aspects of their business over recent years and this new role will join a small, specialist team responsible for the design, development and support of world class video content production facilities.
As the Senior Broadcast Network specialist in the team you will focus on the core broadcast control and contribution networks, helping to implement state of the art technologies across their brand new offices.
Covering systems design, project engineering and support you will work closely with internal stakeholders to help define and deliver their requirements whilst acting as a point of escalation for any issues. You will also act as the primary point of contact with the wider network and security teams identifying technology gaps and work closely with major equipment manufacturers to resolve these. You will undertake research projects focused around cutting edge IP video and audio technologies.
To be considered for this role you should have a proven background in network engineering from a large broadcast/media environment with in-depth understanding of TCP/IP and multicast networks. You should be confident in your ability to troubleshoot network behaviours using packet capture and inspection tools, have previous experience working with fibre-based networks, WDM/CWDM and L2 encryption. Some experience of IP video technologies including ST2022-6/7 and ST2110 and/or IP audio technologies such as AES67 and Dante would also be highly beneficial.
In addition to strong technical skills, you should be an excellent communicator, with the ability to communicate complex technologies to non-technical audiences whilst having a real interest in new technologies and the drive to learn new skills and pass on knowledge.
