A Media Services Operator is required to join a global broadcast organisation based in London on an initial 6- month contract.
As Media Services Operator you will be responsible for accurately encoding, QC'ing and assessing all materials within the company's archive prior to broadcast and will prepare audio files for existing assets.
Your duties will involve recording tape to file, undertaking audio track addition and track tagging, QC'ing both audio and video levels for SD and HD material, transferring material from video server to archive, adding metadata and QC'ing existing metadata in broadcast systems to ensure fault free broadcasts. You will coordinate audio jobs using internal systems when required and liaise with the media management team to ensure that all material is processed in time for broadcast. You will also perform technical quality assessments, ensuring all operational procedures and OFCOM Codes of Practice are followed.
To be considered for this opportunity, it is essential that candidates have worked within a similar capacity either in VT operations or within a multi-channel, fully automated transmission environment. You must have a strong understanding of video and audio theory within broadcast quality control and experience in technical quality assessment. You will also need to have operational knowledge of broadcast equipment including vector scopes, loudness monitoring, waveforms and VT decks with any knowledge of MAM systems being highly advantageous.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are vital for this position and you must have good attention to detail along with full colour vision and hearing.
This position will have a variety of shift patterns working days or part of a shift rota which will include full nights and weekends.
