An MCR Engineer is required to join a global leading broadcaster, working within their dynamic technology team on a permanent basis. Within this role, you will be responsible for providing operational and first line support to their global distribution infrastructure and live output for events, whilst ensuring all services remain on air by handling any necessary transmission switches.
As MCR Engineer, you will monitor all on-air and backup systems ensuring that they are fully operational, providing issue reports relating to transmission system reliability and coordinate ad-hoc programming and live events from multiple locations.
To be successful in the role, candidates must have worked in a similar engineering role within an MCR or broadcast environment, with good knowledge of RF and transmission systems. Any experience of satellite compression and distribution systems would be highly beneficial. You will have a working knowledge of digital baseband signals including SDI, HD-SDI, PCM and have experience with SMPTE 2110. In addition, experience of various testing equipment including spectrum analysers, waveform monitors and oscilloscope is also required.
Please note, this is a shift-based role including weekends and occasional nights for certain events.
