A Lead Broadcast Engineer is required to join the engineering team of a leading broadcast technology services company, working on-site at their cutting-edge technical facilities in London. The impressive facility comprises of broadcast studios, production galleries, edit suites, playout and MCR operations.
As Lead Broadcast Engineer you will line manage a team of Broadcast Engineers and be in charge of mentoring, training and hiring new staff when required. You will work to SLAs, ensuring operational needs of the business are met and all technical faults are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible. You will also play a proactive part in improving workflows and discussing engineering projects with wider production teams and 3rd parties.
To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate a proven background in the leadership or management of a team of Broadcast Engineers. A strong hands-on technical broadcast engineering background is also required, with significant knowledge of studio-based broadcast equipment across Vision Mixers, Cameras, Control Systems, Routers and Audio Desks. When required candidates will provide support to Outside Broadcast trucks. Strong IT and networking experience are needed, as is a good understanding of BNCS control systems. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are a must, with the ability to conduct staff appraisals and represent the organisation in management meetings.
Please note, this will be a shift-based role including weekend work and some overnight shifts.
