A Junior Technical Support Engineer is required by a highly successful and growing media technology company who are looking to expand their Support team. The company works in a number of sectors and its clients include major sports organisations, broadcast, film and post production companies and large corporations.
As Junior Technical Support Engineer you will be working as part of a team providing 1st and 2nd line support to their clients based worldwide via email, phone, online meetings, and remote dial in's, ensuring technical issues are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible and escalating to 3rd line when required.
Applicants should have previous experience in an IT focused technical support role with exposure to a variety of operating systems and ideally some experience of databases including Microsoft SQL Database Engine, mySQL and/or MariaDB Database Engine. Additional experience of installing and configuring applications, performing upgrades and testing would also be highly beneficial as would experience of backing up, restoring and modifying SQL databases and troubleshooting web application and web server problems.
Although not essential any interest or previous experience with broadcast or media technologies including video and audio codecs, formats and wrappers and non linear editing platforms such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut and Avid would also be beneficial.
Strong communication skills, the ability to keep calm under pressure and being comfortable working on your own or as part of a team are essential, as is being able to prioritise your own workload, take ownership of tasks and write technical documentation.
