A Casting Assistant is required by a leading independent audiobook publishing company based in the East Midlands on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing books and manuscripts for a variety of genres and casting suitable actors to narrate the audiobooks whilst ensuring that the projects meet company standards and are delivered on time.

As Casting Assistant, you will report into the Studio Manager and liaise with the studio team regarding recording times required for each project and will develop and manage the database of actors and narrators including logging their skills and requirements.

You will develop working relationships between internal and external stakeholders, raise contracts, detail all bookings and fees and consult with authors, agents and publishers as and when required.

To be considered for this role, candidates must be able to project manage and prioritise workloads as you will be working on multiple projects simultaneously. This position will suit somebody who has recently studied a Media Communications or English Literature related degree or equivalent, ideally with an interest in audiobooks. It would be highly advantageous if you have any previous casting experience.

You must be able to work well within a team and it would be highly beneficial if you are a natural problem solver with negotiating skills to ensure that you meet project deadlines within budget.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are also important along with exceptional literacy and comprehension skills.

If you feel you have the right skills and experience to be successful in this role, then please apply with a copy of your Word CV now. Please note, only applicants who are already fully eligible to live and work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship can be considered.
