A leading multinational broadcast company currently has a great opportunity for an experienced Broadcast Support Engineer to join its team on an initial 12 month fixed term contract, with good possibilities of extension. You will be joining their team based on site at a 24/7 live broadcaster in London, providing a high level of technical support to a wide range of modern IT based and traditional broadcast systems.
As Broadcast Support Engineer you will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line engineering and maintenance support across all areas of the facility including live studios, transmission, post production, file-based workflows and IT based systems. Day to day duties will focus on maintaining a wide range of specialist broadcast and IT equipment with responsibilities including providing routine checks, fault finding and confidently prioritising the urgency of each fault or problem.
To be considered for this role applicants must demonstrate skills in supporting a wide range of broadcast equipment and technologies including some or all of the following;
- Avid iNews
- Media Central and PAM
- Broadcast graphics
- Vantage transcoding
- DivArchive Tape library
- Nexsan Central storage
- Video mixers
- Talkback systems.
In addition, good IT skills with some exposure to networking would be highly beneficial, as is the ability to fault find and investigate the root causes of issues.
This is a shift-based role that does include earlies, lates and nights.
