An experienced Broadcast Production Engineer is required to join a leading research focused company based in Central London. The company have expanded rapidly over recent years in all aspects of their business and this new role will be responsible for the design, development and support of world class production spaces.
Working across systems design, project engineering and support you will be responsible for the company's entire broadcast production infrastructure. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to help define and deliver their requirements whilst acting as a point of escalation for any issues. You will work closely with major equipment manufacturers to identify technology gaps, helping to resolve these if possible, and undertake research projects focused around cutting-edge IP video and audio technologies.
To be considered for this role you should have a proven background in broadcast engineering with a focus on production technologies. A strong understanding of IP video including ST2022-6/7 and ST2110 and IP audio technologies such as AES67 and Dante is essential, as is a strong understanding of baseband video standards. Good IP networking skills are also important with the ability to troubleshoot network behaviours using packet capture. Knowledge of a wide range of production equipment including production switches, routing and glue, content management systems, encoding etc would be ideal, as would exposure to internet streaming technologies.
In addition to strong technical skills, you should be an excellent communicator, with the ability to communicate complex technologies to non-technical audiences. You should be able to remain calm in stressful situations and ideally have exposure to working on high profile live productions.
