A broadcast media technology company currently has a great permanent opportunity available for a Software Developer to join its team. The role will be involved with ongoing bespoke software application development and maintenance in live television sports broadcasting.
As a Software Developer, you will assist in migrating applications from VB6 to VB.Net and investigate, identify and fix any software bug issues. You will develop new applications and also increase the functionality of existing systems using appropriate languages, whilst providing support for live software. Candidates must be willing to travel across the UK and abroad, to install, train, support, debug and develop software as part of this role.
To be considered for the position, you should have recent VB.Net development experience and preferably have some previous Visual Basic programming knowledge. Knowledge of Windows desktop development, data mark-up schemes (XML, JSON etc), VB.Net (v4.0) and VB6 is essential, with experience of SQL databases and web services being highly beneficial. Ideally you will also have an understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.
This role would also suit a candidate with some commercial experience and a theoretical knowledge of Visual Basic programming.
