Innovation and Talent in Asia Pacific
We’re getting ready to pack up our bags again and head out to Singapore to meet up with clients and the brightest and best candidates in the broadcasting industry who will be converging there for Asia’s MEGA Technology Event, ConnecTechAsia. Through three specialised shows – BroadcastAsia, CommunicAsia and NXTAsia – the theme this year is “Capture the Future” and brings together technology’s rising stars, showcasing state-of-the-art communication, enterprise, broadcast technologies and innovations.
With convergence continuing to grow, more and more content is being distributed over digital networks, and we have a growing number of new clients from cloud media technology start-ups to telecommunication fixed line operators, seeking to utilise our global database and connections to find the right people.
According to the latest State of the Broadcast Industry 2019 Report from Ooyala, OTT video has now disrupted the broadcasting and pay-TV industry to the point that it is the key driver behind cross-industry megamergers between broadcast, telecoms and media companies that aim to transform broadcasters into ‘diversified media companies’.
In Asia-Pacific in particular, the report says, regional players like iFlix, HOOQ and Viu will drive OTT growth and carve a sizable niche in the market by leveraging local content and affordable prices, especially in high-growth markets like Indonesia.
The broadcast media industry never sits still, it’s fast-moving and always evolving; whilst new developments at home and abroad mean it’s an exciting time to be involved in international executive search and recruitment. The team at Christy Media like to keep updated with the latest media technology trends, and equally to spend time meeting up with the brightest talents in these new technologies and regions.
Christy Media partners with broadcasters, content creators and distributors, creative digital agencies, eSports organisations, live production facilities, OTT/VOD platforms, post-production houses, system integrators, technology solution providers and telco operators.
The three-day event that is ConnecTechAsia represents the only business platform in Asia that covers the whole ecosystem of info-communications, broadcasting and emerging technologies.
“New emerging technologies such as IoT and AI present significant opportunities for businesses but are at the same time causing disruption across all industries,” said Victor Wong, Event Director, UBM Singapore, organiser of ConnecTechAsia. “Bringing our shows under one brand has allowed us to better serve our core audience and build a new segment amidst the backdrop of converging industries and an increasingly inter-connected landscape brought about by digital transformation.”
As regular exhibitors at BroadcastAsia, we like not only to connect with our clients and meet up with new candidates, but also to invest in educating our team in the emerging trends of the Broadcast Industry. We’re keen to understand the impact of these new disruptive technologies on the skillsets required by companies moving with the times, helping them capture the talent required to shape the future of the industry.
We believe the ongoing investment we make in our team will benefit our clients; our delivery team have an enhanced understanding of specific technologies, the candidate skillsets required for technical roles and a better appreciation of our clients’ commercial concerns and business priorities.
This investment, over the last fifteen years, is also apparent by visiting and exhibiting at key trade shows to reinforce our relationships with many important players in the industry. ConnecTechAsia is just one of the many events on our calendar.
If you are going to ConnecTechAsia this year, whether you’re an organisation looking for staffing solutions, or a media professional looking for your next opportunity, please come and find us on stand no. 6J3-15 at BroadcastAsia in Suntec, or email sales@christy-media.com to arrange a meeting.
