Broadcast Support Engineer
Are you an experienced Broadcast Support Engineer looking for freelance work in the North West of England? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for multiple Broadcast Support Engineers to join a leading broadcast services company on an ad-hoc freelance basis. As Broadcast Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance of production equipment across studio and gallery facilities, including cameras, vision mixers, sound consoles, production switchers and audio and video routers. You will also work to support an MCR and network operations facility, requiring familiarity of IP, RF, uplinking, multiplexing and encoding systems. Experience of supporting Avid and EVS production systems and workflows would be advantageous, as would a strong networking skills across TCP/IP, WAN and LAN. Any knowledge of Nimbra networks would also be a great bonus. The working hours will be 12-hour shifts on an ad-hoc basis, with no night shifts included. Are you an experienced MCR Engineer looking for freelance work and able to work within the Buckinghamshire area? Do you have good knowledge of satellite or IP distribution? We have a fantastic opportunity with a leading broadcast services company who are looking to build on their pool of freelance MCR Engineers. In this role you will be responsible for quality checking the integrity of all incoming and outgoing video and audio signals and monitoring the performance of operational systems. As MCR Engineer, your duties will also involve communicating and escalating faults swiftly, booking lines and feeds for occasional use services when necessary, undertaking routine testing and maintenance of transmission equipment and operating Master Control switchers. You will also be responsible for providing technical advice and assistance across studios, lines and live operations and coordinating services with customers, satellite operators and 3rd party providers. To be considered for this role, candidates must have previous experience of working within a Master Control Room/ Teleport environment with good working knowledge of RF, uplink, multiplex, encoding and conditional access systems, video routers, talkback units and video monitoring systems. A leading broadcast distribution company is looking for an MCR Operator to join its team on a permanent basis. Working within their Network Operations Centre, you will be responsible for monitoring and supporting playout, encoding, contribution services, multiplex, and transmission systems. You will monitor multiple channels at any one time to ensure their on-air presence, providing first line fault diagnosis to broadcast systems and escalating issues to appropriate suppliers where necessary. As part of this role you will be required to log any issues / incidents, QC as well as add and edit material into playlists and check ongoing schedules. An exciting new permanent job opportunity for a Product Owner to join a leading international broadcast media technology company in a newly created permanent position. As Product Owner, you will work closely with Head of R&D and the Software Development Team Leaders to define and manage backlog, writing clear technical requirements and acceptance criteria to enable the successful delivery of software features for a new product the company are developing. A Technical Author is required to write technical documentation to support Broadcast Media software technology product ranges. The position will involve creating and maintaining product documentation and working closely with development and test teams. The position requires a practical technical or engineering background, preferably within the broadcast software technology space. As Technical Author you will be responsible for creating technical product manuals, training manuals and white papers for technical and non-technical audiences. You will also be responsible for testing/QA for software and product releases, resolving customer issues and producing high quality internal and external product training manuals. Broadcast Software Engineer
We currently have a great opportunity for a Software Developer with strong experience in the broadcast industry to join our leading technology client on an initial 6 month contract. In the role you will work on the company's flagship product taking ownership of key deliverables and undertaking development in C# and/or C++. You will also work on the integration and configuration of developed modules to ensure they integrate with other platforms and work closely with key members of the development team to ensure any issues or blockers are flagged as quickly as possible. In addition to the hands on development there may also be some client facing work, presenting to internal and external stakeholders the functionality of key modules. Applicants will need strong .Net/C# development skills along with an excellent understanding of broadcast concepts including routing protocols and ideally some exposure to NMOS. Experience of interfacing with Restful API's is also important as is experience utilising a message bus such as Rabbit MQ or MQTT. Any additional skills in C++ development, integrating with SQL and non-SQL databases and containerisation using Docker would also be highly beneficial.
